Also I think that people should have some quality information available for free so they don't spend all their money trying to find it (like I did). There are a lot of easy money seekers out there and they'll do anything to get your money although they have nothing to tell you. Having said that, let's rather concentrate on this issue and go into the meat of Article one.

Article one:

STEP ONE ... PREPARE

Almost no one has ever succeeded without proper preparation and planning. Now don't worry, there are just a few simple and fun tasks to complete. And by the way, you should always look at building your success as a fun learning experience, not as something that you "have to do" or "has to happen"! Everything that happens is feedback. There are no "failures", just things that need a little more tuning.

OK, here are the first tasks:

  • Brainstorm what you want to sell and how you want to sell it

        You can just take a white piece of paper and write down everything you think of that you want to sell. Ask yourself a question: "What would I like to sell the most?". Check the main topics in the magazines (they do a lot of research on "what's in" right now and what interests people). Look at some online magazines, popular web pages etc. Make it a topic that interests you the most so it's more fun in the later steps.

Figure out, are you going to launch a new product (be a website owner) or become an affiliate. These two worlds are, as you are going to find in the future articles, very different. Both have a unique job to do and it is usually too much work to be both at the same time at the beginning. Pick one and go from there.

Also a good question would beare my "target prospects" able to buy my product? Do they have a credit card, enough income to buy my product...

  • Research

Once you've got your topic, it's time to do some research.

Find the right affiliate program (like let's say ClickBank) and find some great products you can sell. Brainstorm some keywords you think people could use to find your page or ad. You can also use great tools like adwords equalizer (the link will open in a new window) or go to Overture.com (the link will open in a new window) where under "Advertisers center" "Tools" "Keywords selector tool", you'll find a great free tool for figuring out how many people are actually searching for your topic.

Find as many articles, e-books and newsletters for your topic. You'll use this knowledge to write your own e-book or to use as advertising later.

You can maybe even find something that you can buy resell rights to. Be creative, it'll pay off big time.

Also, if you don't already have a web site, find a good and cheap web hosting service. I really recommend StartLogic.com (the link will open in a new window). But you don't need a website to be an effective affiliate, however it can triple or even quadruple your profits, so think about it. I don't know of any very successful affiliates without their own affiliate webpage. More on this later.

A good indicator of how well to expect your product to sell is to type some of your keywords in search engines such as Google or Overture. Then see how many people are advertising similar products usually using similar ads you can see on the top left side of this page. 

Make sure there aren't too many as it could mean too much of a competition for now. About 5 is OK, so you know people are selling this stuff. But don't get too discouraged if there are more, they probably don't know what you are about to...

You are ready to blast it into the stratosphere. This next step is crucial and not many people realize the importance of it. Pay great attention, this is for YOU.

STEP TWO ... TEST/START BUILDING A LIST

How many times have you tried to sell an affiliate product? You put your affiliate link on your page, maybe blast it with an e-mail blaster, put it on sites that millions visit. You know that hundreds of people visited that link, but you received 1 or even worse, 0 sales? Did at any time any of the web owners that you provided with free traffic ever thank you?

Well, they should. You know why? Even though no one bought the product, a fair amount of visitors signed up for their e-zine. Now they have their name and e-mail address all thanx to YOU. They'll follow up and try to sell them the product. And if they succeed within 60 days, you get your commission, but they have that visitor to sell him again and again and again!

You see, YOU are building their list! For every 50% or 60% commission they pay you, you brought them at least 10 new leads for FREE, or more, if they are better. Ha, and you thought YOU were on the better end getting 60% out of every sale :)

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that, it's just YOU could be selling to those leads again and again and again! Catching on? See, if you don't have this:

on your web page already, you are loosing precious leads every time they leave your webpage. And if you don't have a webpage at all, well you can still do well, but please, don't quit your day job. All super affiliates have at one time gathered a huge list of prospects they can sell to. It's that simple.

So, your priority should be to get a lot of traffic and to build a list.

List building is not that difficult, if you know how to do it. If you have a product, simply put a subscription to your newsletter on your website. If you don't have a product yet, then I suggest to write a free articles site (just like this one :) ) and make a newsletter that expands on the wealth of information you provide on your site. People will subscribe because they see from your free articles that you know what you are talking about!

You could also give away a free e-book for subscribing. This is a good way for you to introduce your product to people and for something else that we'll learn later. I suggest writing the book in .pdf format. For this you have to either  buy "Adobe Acrobat Writer" from www.adobe.com, or get a free tool at www.PDF995.com.

When it's all set, you have to somehow get traffic to your page. This we'll cover in detail soon. You have some work to do now! No need to overdo it, about 10-20 pages with a 14pt font will do. Oh, and share half of your secrets there and leave the better half for them to buy :) - This is genius, I'll tell you at the end where I got this idea.

So, now you see that it's good to have a webpage so you can get people to subscribe to your newsletter and you get targeted audience you can sell over and over and over again. But a webpage isn't worth anything if it doesn't have any visitors. And I mean real visitors, not just some "surf for credits/cash" kind of visitors. Those programs can bring you some visitors, so it's good to set up such campaigns (I'll show you the best ones later), but don't rely solely on  those. Maybe 1 out of 100 actually gets interested in your page -- you can get a better ratio with some special programs that I'll show you later.

The "test" part of this article is intended to put in front of you a concept of not rushing into something that isn't going to be very profitable ... if at all. You can also set up a webpage saying: "I am writing an e-book and I would like to know what specifically you would like to learn. Send me some suggestions and you will get a free copy when it's ready". Also put a subscription to your newsletter option.

If you are still interested in only being an affiliate without having anything to do with web pages and list building ... well, there is an alternative. If you don't get any subscribers, well then people aren't going to be interested in your product. If they didn't subscribe, they won't buy. That simple. Try writing a better sales letter and test some more, but don't put all your energy in something that isn't going to get you money. There are tons of other subjects! Make sure you are getting targeted visitors (I'll show you how in the next article). When it reaches about 300 targeted or about 1-2 thousand non targeted, take a look at the subscription ratio. If it's good (40% or more for targeted visitors, 10% or more for non targeted), make your product and set it up. It'll probably do well.  And you already have a list of 100-200 subscribers! That is not bad for a month.

And set your newsletter on a webpage and put some AdSense ads on them. This will get you some extra cash so you won't loose too much with advertising - for now you are just testing. More on advertising in the next article.

 

Getting all the traffic to your page can be very frustrating and expensive ... if you don't know how to go about it

When I was first starting with this "internet moneymaking thing", I had no idea about pretty much anything. Well, I knew some HTML and a little JavaScript. But that was all. I didn't know how to get traffic, I didn't even know about autoresponders and how important they were. Well, I set up my page and submit it to Google in hopes of success. A week passed ... nothing. Two weeks ... nothing. And so on. I didn't get ONE visitor to my page. That confused me. I started searching and found an interesting e-book.

It promised to make me rich. I bought it immediately. Wasn't even thinking. Just BUM. An impulsive BUY! Read it from cover to cover and realized that it was just an extended sales letter from the page I bought it from. And it was also trying to sell me other products for me to succeed. The info was useless. Trying to sell me more. Well, I didn't buy anything else ... from them. But I did from others. Pretty much the same thing. Some were better, some even worse. One had "techniques" in it that even cost me some more money instead of making me some. Figure that.

Well, over time I came to distinguish good-value products from bad ones. I bought some great books (some also very expensive, but well worth it) and put their tactics into action. It worked. I now have my own system that I am perfecting. I'm going to share some ideas with you. Everything that I suggest on my sites is tested and confirmed to really work. Today, not a year ago. I'll go more into depth in my newsletter. If you haven't already, be sure to subscribe (use the form near the top of the page).

In the next article, I'll show you how to get a lot of visitors to your affiliate sites or web pages. Some are well known to the elite and other very successful internet marketers and some only to the very top internet gurus (and I've learned from a few). OK, let's get started...

Article three:

STEP THREE ... GENERATE MASSIVE TRAFFIC!

What kind of traffic do you think you need on your webpage? Well depends, but usually the best is the targeted traffic. But there is no need to only limit yourself to only targeted traffic. Non-targeted can get you some success, but you need a lot more of it. And also not all non-targeted traffic if good.

This would be a tremendous article, so I divided it into smaller articles. When you see a new link formed (when you come back every day), just click on it and a new window will open with an article on your desired topic.

Some good places to look for targeted traffic:

  • Search engines (a no brainer)
  • Pay per click advertising (also a no brainer)
  • FFA pages (not many people know about this form of advertising - the key is to host a page, not to post on them! More on this later) Update: Do this last as it has lost it's power due to over usage
  • Link exchanges from relevant pages (get a list of some most important link exchange programs in the newsletter)
  • Web rings (what is that? :) )
  • Forums (be careful here - I give more detailed info in the newsletter)

Some good places to look for non-targeted traffic:

  • E-mail blasters - well, I have some drawbacks here, but with proper wording of your subject and mail content, it could work well. I got ten new subscribers and almost a hundred visits in just a few short minutes writing a short mail. And I do it every day (more on that in the newsletter).
  • Popup/popunder advertising on high traffic pages - better if they have similar content to your page.
  • Surf for credits/cash pages - they certainly generate alot of hits, but you have to be lucky that 0.1% of them even see your page. But it's worth it. I'll show you a couple good ones where you get 1000's of free hits to your page just for signing up with them. Also I have some tricks up my sleeve to boost that percent a bit higher ;).

The best ways to get traffic:

  • Your own affiliates - learn how to effectively recruit them and stimulate them to bring you tons of traffic!
  • Desktop advertising -  these are the most likely to buy after they clicked on your add!
  • Newspaper/magazine ads - wow, these people wouldn't find you at all and there are many, many!
  • Viral marketing - now this is the mother of all advertising and we'll go in more detail later when it's finished and even more in the newsletter.
  • Here's another new free way to get at least 1000 laser targeted visitors to your webpage - that is without any work. If you spend a few minutes a day or only $97, you can get ... 1.000.000 ad impressions on thousands of targeted, high traffic web pages. And by the way, your ads have to be seen by real people!   • Using blogs - Add comments to blogs. Don't make it look like an advertisment as some blog owners could get upset and we do not like that, right. First, create a free acount at www.blogger.com, then start your session. You can also use this software to help you. More on this in the newsletter.
